National Agro Foundation pioneered the setting up of modern laboratories for soil testing and food testing laboratories knowing fully well the need of technology services in the agriculture sector. NAF Laboratory Services Division encompasses Soil Testing Lab and Food Testing Lab and provides analytical services for food and agriculture development. NAF Soil and Food Testing Laboratories are accredited as per ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by NABL, Govt . of India.

Are you looking for short and intensive hands on training in the field of food technology and quality testing?? Then here is the solution!

National Agro Foundation at its Research & Development Centre, Anna University Taramani Campus is organizing a five day ‘Hands on Training on Food Analysis’ during 19th to 23rd December 2016 and 26th to 30th December 2016. Five day analytical training course is designed to cater to individuals who aspire to become food technologists and food quality analysts.The sessions will be conducted by a team of renowned experts from the field of food analysis and food standards.

Benefits of the training - At the end of the course, a trainee will have acquired the knowledge on following aspects:

  • The proximate analysis in food products like analysis of carbohydrate, fat, protein etc.
  • Quality and safety aspects of food and the food quality standards.
  • Knowledge on the principles, application and interpretation of test results.

NAF strongly believes in adoptive research & development for the welfare of the community. NAF’s experimental farms at its Centre For Rural Development (CFRD) undertakes lot of need-based, location –specific R & D activities. This includes varietal evaluation trials, conservation agriculture, integrated nutrient management trials, water saving technologies and farming practices, soil fertility improvement among others.

Apart from this NAF also undertakes social studies research such as adoption behaviour, technology transfer, training needs etc to effectively address the demand-side requirements of any development intervention .
